Job summary

Dignity Health - Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is seeking a CNA Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to be a central figure on our patient care team, providing direct, compassionate, hands-on support to patients and assisting nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED required.
• California Certified Nursing Assistant License (CNA License) required.
• Basic Life Support Cert (AHA BLS Cert) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse within the scope of practice of a nursing assistant. Vital signs, Ambulation, ADLs, Routine treatment procedures as defined by hospital policy/procedure/routines.
• Reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the licensed nurse. Demonstrates clinical/technical expertise in general nursing skills. Understands age-specific variations in the patient population
• Documents patient care measures according to patient care standards, policies, and procedures. Manages age-specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions (as directed by the licensed nurse)
• Assists in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer, transport, and discharge procedures. Provides for the safe care of patient valuables during these processes. Utilizes proper body mechanics when performing job duties
• Appropriately utilizes equipment and supplies (including following established policies, procedures, and protocols governing the transport, handling, and storage of intravenous fluids) in the care of the patient
• Demonstrates adherence to the standards of conduct requirements
