Job summary

The Avalon is hiring Resident Care Associates (Nursing Assistant or CNA) in Bloomfield, MI. We value exceptional customer service and a compassionate heart for seniors, with training offered for those new to the field.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with personal care, mealtime support, activities, and timely response to calls, while maintaining a calm, respectful environment and reporting health status changes to the nurse on duty.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience as CNA/PCA/HHA/RA preferred.
• One year experience in assisted living/memory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with high quality personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height & weight checks).
• Make beds, change linens, and assist with laundry.
• Assist with meals, cut food, encourage to eat.
• Promote a calm atmosphere and document shift assignments.
• Report to nurse and Director of Health Services any unusual resident status.
• Provide planned activities and respond to call lights and emergencies.
• Provide emergency care within scope of practice.
