Job summary

Good Samaritan, a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of senior housing and services, is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for the Canistota, SD facility. The role involves providing resident-centered care under an RN, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting care plans within a team-based environment.

The position requires CNA certification and flexibility to work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position; facility provides training/certification.
• Annual 12 hours continuing education and competency testing.
• Some states may require Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) registry; driving responsibilities may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, and mobility.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and dining to create a positive dining experience.
• Support health and wellness programs and help maintain infection prevention policies.
