Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered daily care in a long-term care setting under RN supervision. The role includes assistance with activities of daily living, vital signs, and documentation of resident conditions.

You will help with transfers, mobility, and dining, contributing to a compassionate, team-oriented environment. The position requires CNA certification, flexibility to work day shifts, and compliance with infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with State Board of Nursing or in process; facility provides training and certification.
• Annual requirement of 12 hours continuing education.
• If applicable in state, listed in UAP Registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with license and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital signs recording.
• Support transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Contribute to dining support and meal service to create positive dining experiences.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.

Education

High school graduate or GED (preferred)

CNA certification with State Board of Nursing or in process

Must be 16+ years old

12 hours ce annually (continuing education)

UAP Registry consideration (where applicable)

Sanford Driving Policy requirements (if driver)
