Job summary

The State of Rhode Island is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals to provide direct patient care and assist with treatment plans.

Applicants must be registered as Nursing Assistant in Rhode Island and have the ability to read, write and speak English; prior hospital/clinical experience is preferred. The posted shift is FLOAT 1st Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with every other weekend and holidays.

Qualifications

• A working knowledge of patient care practices including infection control and basic treatments.
• Education: reading, writing and speaking English.
• Experience: training or employment in hospital patient care.
• Special requirement: must be registered as Nursing Assistant by the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision of patients according to care plans.
• Assist with simple treatments and activities of daily living.
• Assist with meals and mobility and transport.
• Maintain environment cleanliness and safety.
• Collaborate with staff on treatment and quality assurance.
