Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Nursing Assistant to support Med Surg ICU with 36 hours per week. You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, rotating weekends and holidays. Primary duties include assisting RNs with daily patient care, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring safety and comfort of patients.

Qualifications include a GED or HS equivalency and BLS/Nurse Aide in good standing. Prior clinical exposure is beneficial, and you will operate within EMR systems and hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication needed.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Commitment to continuing education for hospital certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, mobility).
• Measure and document vital signs and intake/output; document EMR entries.
• Perform rounding and communicate patient observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges and room setup.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Run errands, restock nursing area, and clean equipment and spaces.
• Assist with patient positioning and transportation.
• Maintain skin integrity and proper use of patient aids.
