Job summary

Luna Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM is hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our clinical team. You will administer medications, monitor resident conditions, assist with daily living activities, and document care in the EMR while ensuring safety and compliance.

Work under licensed staff supervision, delivering compassionate, person-centered care to residents and contributing to positive clinical outcomes in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Current, active CNA certification in the State of New Mexico
• Current Medication Aide certification in the State of New Mexico
• Ability to administer medications within NM certification requirements
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate medication administration and documentation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications accurately and in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
• Observe residents for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions and report findings promptly
• Obtain and document vital signs as directed
• Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding and mobility
• Safely assist residents with transfers, ambulation, repositioning, and mobility devices
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance
• Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration and resident care in EMR
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to supervising nurse
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment following infection control standards
• Collaborate with licensed nurses and interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
• Adhere to facility policies, CMS regulations, and state requirements
• Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life through compassionate care
