Job summary

Urology Centers of Alabama, PC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in a clinic setting under physician supervision. The role requires compassionate patient interaction, competency in catheterization, specimen collection, and sterilization, plus strong typing and EMR skills.

Candidates must hold CMA certification, maintain credentials, and have a valid BLS CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant from an approved program or have an extensive work record with approved references as a Medical Assistant.
• Must maintain license/credential as outlined in Minimum Qualification #1 without lapse.
• Must have a Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification and keep it up to date.
• Must display ability to perform clinical duties including catheterization, specimen collection, and sterilization.
• Must be able to type documents, emails, forms and other communications.
• Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including EMR, Windows, MSOffice, multi-line telephone, copier, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to urology patients under supervision of a physician, PA, or NP.
• Perform catheterization using aseptic technique when required.
• Collect blood, urine, and other specimens for lab analysis.
• Perform sterilization of instruments, rooms, and equipment as needed.
• Type documents and communicate via email and forms.
• Operate standard office equipment and EMR systems effectively.
