Job summary

UNC Health Pardee BlueMD is inviting a Certified Medical Assistant to assist in patient interviews, vital signs, and specimen collection across our clinics in western North Carolina. The CMA will support care delivery through documentation in the EMR and coordination of follow-up procedures.

The role requires current CMA certification and BLS certification, with the ability to lift supplies and move around the clinical area as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Medical Assistant certification from an approved body.
• Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Position requires ability to lift supplies and navigate clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to collect and document history of present illness (HPI) and medication reconciliation.
• Performs vital sign measurement and standard clinic testing.
• Coordinates follow-on procedures including onsite testing and specimen collection.
• Assists with provider-performed procedures (e.g., sutures, splints).
• Communicates care plans clearly and explains practice policies with cultural competency.
• Documents care in the EMR and ensures required forms are completed.
• Collects/testing specimens for transport to offsite lab.
• Maintains supplies and medications for efficient clinical operations.
• Promotes a safe, clean clinical environment with standard infection control.

Medical Assistant certification (CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA/ARMA)
