Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Medical Assistant certification from the NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or ARMA.
• Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Position requires ability to lift supplies and equipment regularly and move around the clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect and document history of present illness (HPI), medications, and allergies.
• Measure vitals and perform standard clinic tests per procedures.
• Coordinate and perform follow-on procedures directed by a provider, including onsite testing and specimen collection.
• Assist with provider-performed procedures such as suturing or splinting.
• Communicate with patients about their care, explain policies, and provide information with cultural sensitivity.
• Document care in the EMR and ensure required forms are complete.
• Collect and prepare testing specimens for transport to the lab.
• Maintain supplies and medications to support ongoing clinical operations.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment with standard precautions and infection control.
