Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to interview and initiate care for patients visiting our clinics. The CMA will perform vital signs, coordinate follow-up procedures, and assist with clinician-performed procedures such as sutures or splints.

The role emphasizes documenting care in the EMR, ensuring forms are complete, and maintaining infection control in a safe clinical environment. Onsite, full-time with a 36-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Medical Assistant certification.
• Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Position requires ability to lift supplies and navigate clinical areas throughout work.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to collect and document history of present illness and allergies.
• Performs vital sign measurements and standard testing per clinic procedures.
• Coordinates and performs follow-up procedures including onsite testing and specimen collection.
• Assists with provider-performed procedures such as sutures or splints.
• Communicates with patients and explains policies with cultural competency.
• Documents care into the EMR and ensures completion of required forms.
• Collects and prepares testing specimens for transport to offsite labs.
• Maintains supplies and medications for clinical operations.
• Promotes a safe, clean clinical environment and infection control.
