Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to deliver clinical and clerical support across primary care, surgical, and specialty practices. You will manage medications in the ambulatory setting, document thoroughly in the EMR, and assist with patient education and registration processes.

Responsibilities include medication orders, prescriptions, insurance verification, and front-office duties.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with AAMA, RMA, or NHA certification or approved equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Previous healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support to primary care, surgical and specialty practices.
• Administer provider-ordered medications per policy guidelines.
• Enter medication orders in EMR and reconcile medications.
• Submit prescriptions electronically to patient pharmacies.
• Document patient intake, allergies, med list, and ROS; ensure timely recording.
• Assist in patient education as needed.
• Perform front office duties: calls, scheduling, and payments processing.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect out-of-pocket liabilities.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and patient records.
