Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is hiring a Clinic RN for East Village Palliative Care in Des Moines, IA. You will provide outpatient nursing care, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and ensure safe, evidence-based practice in a fast-paced setting.

The role supports a weekday schedule, 40 hours per week, with no weekends or holidays. Iowa RN license, BLS, and commitment to Trinity Health values are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa; compact license acceptable where applicable.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (Windows, email, MS Office).
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient patient care using nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate care with other clinical staff and support patient and family education.
• Maintain EMR documentation with assessments, vitals, treatments, and education.
• Administer medications and treatments via multiple routes and document accordingly.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
• Participate in meetings, quality improvement, and adherence to policies.
