Job summary

Mariposa County seeks an Extra Help Driver in the Administration / Transportation Division of the Health and Human Services Agency. The role safely operates a County vehicle to transport clients to medical and program-related appointments, maintaining records and ensuring safety throughout trips.

The position requires a valid California driver’s license, a safe driving record, CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain within 30 days, and completion of the application process as online only.

Qualifications

• Experience driving and dealing directly with people.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license; safe driving record; DMV driving record attachment; CPR and first aid certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Drives a County vehicle to transport clients safely in accordance with authorized, pre-approved schedules, both within and outside of the County.
• Provides safe, courteous and efficient transportation for clients; assists clients in and out of the vehicle; escorts clients to appointments as necessary.
• Maintains accurate records of trip information and vehicle mileage; prepares reports of driving hazards, accidents and passenger incidents.
• Maintains current licenses and certificates.
• Cleans vehicle interior and exterior to ensure safe operating condition.
• Performs related duties as required.
