Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed medication tech with state-approved training and examinations required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Able to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies when administering medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Help develop and implement procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete required forms, charts, and reports; submit as required.
• Ensure documentation of drug receipt errors includes an incident report.
• Accurately measure and report residents' vital signs.
• Notify Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing Services of medication issues.
• Follow medication card practices and facility recording procedures.
