Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; bilingual a plus
• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Preferably 1 year caregiving experience, but at least 6 months; training available for newcomers
• Experience with dementia, hospice, or facilities is a plus
• Reliable transportation to and from shifts
• Possess a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance
• Ability to pass a full employment background check

Responsibilities

• Assisting with showering, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and toileting
• Assisting with transferring/moving client within the home
• Performing household tasks: vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishes, laundry, bathroom cleaning
• Preparing nutritious meals and snacks
• Providing transportation and accompanying clients to errands or appointments
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities (reading, music, crafts, games)
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
