Job summary

Quail Park of West Seattle is seeking a dedicated Caregiver, Nursing Assistant, or Resident Aide to assist residents with daily living activities and provide compassionate support.

Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers credentials; English communication is essential. The role involves teamwork with nursing staff and other caregivers in a residential care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to take blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and O2 Sat or to learn.
• CPR/First Aid credentials must be maintained.
• Food Handlers credentials must be current.
• Annual Continuing Education Credits must be maintained.
• Enjoy working with seniors and build rapport with residents, families and staff.
• Strong English communication skills to interact with residents and team members.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand resident individual service plans.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, ambulation.
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and socialization during care.
• Observe changes in condition and report to licensed nurse or supervisor.
• Complete incident forms and documentation for communication with the care team.
• Assist with meals and ensure proper serving technique and presentation.
• Post mortem care carried out under hospice as needed.
• Make beds, empty trash, and tidy the resident apartment daily.
• Turn down beds in the evening as requested.
• Change linens and towels per community schedule.
• Maintain neat resident clothing and closet organization.
• Assist with cleaning walkers, wheelchairs, and other equipment.
• Support housekeeping duties as assigned.
