Qualifications

• Completion of 15 hours caregiver training credits prior to start; commit to 8 additional credits annually.
• Ability to follow care plans and work under supervision.
• Patience, empathy, and compassion for residents with diverse needs.
• Dependability and trustworthiness to ensure resident safety and well-being.
• Strong problem-solving and observational skills to recognize and report changes in health or behavior.
• Ability to work independently and in a care team; open to feedback.
• Capability to lift and assist residents (training provided).
• Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with clean record and active insurance.
• Must pass all required background checks and meet state caregiver requirements.
• Must provide a negative communicable disease screening or proof within the last 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Administer medications as directed and document properly.
• Offer companionship through conversation and activities to support emotional well-being.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Prepare and serve meals per dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
• Support mobility needs including transferring and walking assistance.
• Observe and report changes in behavior, health, or safety to supervisors.
• Follow individualized care plans and document services accurately.
• Provide transportation or accompany residents to appointments and errands.
