Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of NWI is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our team to provide non-medical in-home care. You will work one-on-one with clients, delivering support and companionship to help seniors age in place with dignity and empathy.

No healthcare certification is required, but previous caregiving experience and a caring attitude are valued. Successful applicants should have a driver's license, reliable transportation, and access to a mobile phone to stay connected with families

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test (as required by the State of Indiana)
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
• A compassionate heart for older adults
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable

Responsibilities

• Social companionship
• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation and other care as needed
• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
• Standby assistance with transfers
• Overnight safety assistance
