Job summary

Discovery Senior Living Hamilton community is seeking a caring Caregiver to enrich residents' lives, provide hands-on daily support, and help create a safe, home-like environment where individuals feel valued and connected. You’ll assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding, while promoting independence, dignity, and well-being.

Qualifications

• CHHA or CNA certification required.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication skills with residents, team members, and leadership.
• Compassionate, resident-focused approach with excellent customer service.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Care for designated group of residents during shift; ensure supervision and safety.
• Provide daily personal care support: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, eating assistance.
• Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells.
• Promote independence while maintaining dignity, safety and well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas.
• Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents.
• Engage residents in meaningful life skills activities and enrichment programs.
• Notify supervisor/healthcare coordinator if care needs increase.
• Other duties as assigned.
