Job summary

Gurnee Place Memory Care is seeking compassionate Caregivers to provide exceptional resident care in our senior living community in Gurnee, IL. You will support daily living activities, assist with meals, mobility, and safety, and collaborate with nurses and staff to ensure a high standard of care.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a caregiver or similar role preferred but not required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift and assist with transfers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate resident care, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility).
• Support residents during meals, activities, and routines, ensuring comfort and dignity.
• Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights, maintaining safety and attentiveness.
• Assist with transferring and positioning residents using proper safety techniques.
• Keep living environments clean and organized; assist with light housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor residents’ health and behavior and report changes to nursing/leadership staff.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families; encourage participation in social/wellness activities.
• Collaborate with nurses, dining, and life enrichment staff to coordinate holistic care; attend trainings.
