Job summary

Griswold Home Care is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to provide non-medical elderly care and home companionship. The role includes transferring, assisting with daily activities, light housekeeping, meal prep, and ensuring client safety. A valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and at least 2 years of caregiving experience are required.

Qualifications

• Day shift availability required.
• Minimum 2+ years of caregiving experience.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transferring and positioning of the client.
• Observing and reporting changes in physical and mental conditions.
• Skin care - assist in applying over the counter lotions to prevent dry skin.
• Clean and maintain medical equipment - power wheelchair, hospital bed, shower chair, and Hoyer lift.
• Accompaniment of client when out of home to grocery, doctors appointment, or pharmacy errands.
• Prep/clean after a meal.
• Basic home chores (sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry).
• Personal care assistance (toileting - incontinence).
• Bathing - perform a skilled transfer into shower using transfers.
• Dressings.
• Companionship and conversation.
