Job summary

Irvine Cottages is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to assist residents with daily living activities and care needs in Irvine, CA. This role supports a small resident-to-staff ratio and requires clear communication with the Executive Administrator and care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, medication self-administration, engagement in activities, and ensuring confidentiality. Training is provided, with overtime and benefits referenced in the job overview.

Qualifications

• Criminal background clearance is required by state law.
• Caregiving experience (1 year) in Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Home Care, or direct care is preferred.
• Ability to work with older adults, including those with behavioral challenges.
• Experience with dementia care and Hoyer lifts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
• Assist residents with self-administration of medications as directed.
• Engage residents in activities to promote social interaction and well-being.
• Document and communicate resident activities, ADLs, and changes to care staff.
• Prepare and serve meals with modifications for dietary needs per menu.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Support individuals with dementia and maintain resident confidentiality.
