Job summary

Forsyth County Government is seeking a Full-time Bus Operator to transport clients, elderly and disabled passengers to medical facilities, schools, and other destinations according to schedule. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in vehicle operation, defensive driving, and CPR/first aid.
• Two (2) months previous experience and/or training involving van/bus driving, vehicle operation, or passenger transportation.
• Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid certification within three (3) months of employment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; may require Georgia CDL with endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Operates a van or other motor vehicle to transport clients, elderly citizens, handicapped persons, children, and other passengers to medical facilities, shopping facilities, senior center, schools, day care centers, places of employment, or other destinations according to schedule.
• Plans/organizes daily trip routes/schedules and makes adjustments due to traffic or other situations.
• Promotes positive customer relations and passenger comfort; provides information on routes, fares, and local directions.
