Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support patients in a part-time, on-site role in Cathedral City, CA. You will supervise patients, conduct safety checks, and assist with daily program activities to ensure a secure and supportive environment.

The role emphasizes empathy, teamwork, and adherence to facility policies. A clean DMV record and a high school diploma are required; experience in addiction or mental health care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years.
• Must be at least 23 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment (preferred).
• Associate degree or higher (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Patient Supervision and Safety: Monitor patients and facility grounds, conduct safety checks, and communicate with medical staff for attention needs.
• Waive Testing: Measure and report vital signs, conduct UDS and pregnancy tests, and comply with company policies.
• Patient Interaction and Support: Maintain respectful and professional interactions with patients, offering emotional support, referring clinical concerns to therapy staff.
• Communication and Team Collaboration: Share relevant patient information with the Team Leader, Supervisor/Operations Director while collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality care.
• Daily Program and Facility Management: Assist in patient transport, group coordination, and recreational activities. Ensure facility safety, supervise supplies, and manage patient discharge preparations.
