Job summary

The Oceans Behavioral Hospital Longview seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to assist nursing staff in providing compassionate patient care to adults and seniors with anxiety, depression, and related conditions.

You will support routine nursing tasks, monitor vital signs, document observations, and participate in de-escalation and safety procedures in line with Joint Commission and Oceans policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification or 6 months of bedside care experience.
• Reading and writing, plus strong verbal communication and teamwork.
• CPR certification and Oceans de-escalation training are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff to maintain a therapeutic milieu and provide patient care.
• Perform vitals, monitor nutrition and intake/output, and document findings.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and ensure safety per protocols.
• Support patients with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
• Record observations accurately and communicate with the nursing team.
