Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Longview is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu for adults and seniors facing anxiety, depression and other conditions.

The role involves performing patient care activities under supervision, adhering to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards, and documenting findings for the care team.

Qualifications

• Provide patient care activities under supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Adhere to Joint Commission, federal and state requirements, Oceans policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions when needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and secure contraband; perform unit safety checks.
• Perform vital signs, weights, ADL, intake/output documentation and dietary monitoring.
• Assist patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions, mobility and personal belongings.
• Document patient observations and departures accurately in the record.
• Communicate task outcomes and patient needs to nursing staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
