Job summary

UNC Health Johnston is hiring for a behavioral health support role in Johnston Health's IP unit. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, assist with admissions, and help orient patients and families to the facility.

You will participate in group sessions, monitor patients, and support safety with de-escalation and basic care tasks. A CPI, BLS, and one year of behavioral health experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree may satisfy.
• One year of behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aids patients with orientation, behavior plans, and de-escalation.
• Interview patients/families and input data for care planning.
• Lead groups and one-on-one activities to encourage participation.
• Observe and report changes to the RN/physician promptly.
• Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities.
• Assist with safety, restraints or seclusion when needed.
• Reinforce teaching and distribute educational materials.
