Job summary

Oceans Healthcare provides behavioral health services and operates Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital in Meridian, Idaho. The role supports patient care under licensed staff, performs vital signs and daily living activities, and assists with safety and documentation in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, and either CNA certification or at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written instruction.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must work well with diverse populations.
• Must be able to utilize Age, Disability and Cultural Specific knowledge in working with specialized populations to best communicate with those clients.
• Must be in good physical and mental health with a respectful, empathetic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Continually monitors and supports compliance within unit rules.
• Demonstrates the ability to employ de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventories patient belongings accurately and secures contraband as needed; completes unit safety checks.
• Performs patient care activities under supervision of licensed nursing personnel; takes vital signs, weights, ADL, nutritional monitoring and reports findings to the nurse.
• Assists patients with daily living activities and mobility as needed.
• Documents patient observations accurately and communicates outcomes to nursing staff.
• Ensures effective handoffs and follow-up on patient care responsibilities to maintain continuity of care.
