The role requires punctuality and professionalism while ensuring quality service and patient safety, transport of disabled patients, and adherence to HIPAA. You will conduct vehicle inspections, assist with boarding, and document trips using mobile apps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid New York State driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
• Clean driving record with no license points.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality; consistent attendance is essential.
• Prior experience operating a bus or mini-bus preferred.
• Smartphone apps proficiency; basic Excel knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport disabled and mobility‑limited members to medical appointments and approved destinations.
• Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate assistance at all times.
• Operate ambulette buses safely and in accordance with laws and policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report safety concerns.
• Assist members with boarding/exiting, using lifts and mobility devices.
• Escort members to ensure safe transfers and support.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of vehicles.
• Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Accurately complete trip logs and required documentation using mobile apps.
• Communicate scheduling and delays with dispatch and clinic staff.
