Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Acute Rehab Unit at West Hospital. You will support nurses, assist with basic patient care, monitor vital signs, and help with mobility and daily activities, providing compassionate service to patients and families.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, hand-offs, and cooperating with the care team to ensure safety and comfort. BLS and EPIC/EHR familiarity are preferred; prior acute care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred or must obtain prior to direct patient care
• Recent experience in acute care, physician office, home health/hospice, or long-term care is preferred
• EPIC/EHR familiarity is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene and mobility support
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nurse
• Assist with feeding and personal care for patients
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care
• Assist with patient transfers and hand-offs between shifts
• Promote patient independence and dignity throughout care
