Job summary
The Central Texas Health Care System within the Veterans Health Administration is seeking Nursing Assistants for Acute Care in Temple, Texas. The NA will support licensed staff, assist with basic nursing duties, and provide care across acute, subacute, chronic, hospice, and maintenance settings to help Veterans achieve their highest level of function.
Candidates must meet basic VA qualification standards, including US citizenship, appropriate education or training, and English proficiency.
Qualifications
- US citizenship or eligible to work in the US
- Six months of general experience
- Education or training related to NA
- One year of education above high school with NA-related courses
- Completion of an intensive NA training program less than one year
- English language proficiency
Responsibilities
- Learn to perform basic nursing duties under close supervision
- Care for patients/residents with acute to chronic conditions
- Assist with monitoring and documentation of vital signs
- Assist with mobility, hygiene, and basic procedures
- Observe patient status and report deviations to supervisor
- Support care planning and patient education as directed
