Job summary

Casa Arena Healthcare in Alamogordo, NM is seeking a friendly Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in organizing and delivering activities that meet residents’ needs and interests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One-year experience working in long term care.
• One year of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity programs to promote residents' engagement in normal life activities and to maintain functioning levels.
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, outings, religious activities, educational activities, and social events.
• Complete activity documentation as trained, in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submit supplies list to the Activity/Recreation Director and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintain precautions/limitations lists on each resident.
• Assist in organizing and supervising the volunteer program, including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assist with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assist in planning community activities involving residents, staff, families, and the community.
• Develop and post a monthly calendar of activities.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at any time.
