Job summary

Casa Arena Healthcare in Alamogordo, NM seeks an empathetic Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning and delivering engaging recreational programs for residents.

You will help coordinate group and individual activities, document participation, work with volunteers, and help create monthly calendars, with prior long-term care and activity program experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One-year experience in long term care.
• One year of social/recreational program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to engage residents.
• Encourages participation in group and individual activities (arts/crafts, outings, religious, educational, social).
• Assists with activity documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Submits supplies lists and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations for each resident.
• Supports Activity/Recreation Director in volunteer program organization and training of volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council meetings when needed.
• Helps plan community activities involving staff, families, and residents.
• Prepares and posts monthly calendars of activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
