Job summary

Senior Helpers (US) in Melbourne, FL is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home support to clients. You will engage in meaningful conversation, assist with daily living activities, and help with meals, mobility, and safety.

This role offers flexible scheduling, opportunities for training, and a supportive team. A high school diploma and a background check are required; CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
• Ability to perform light physical tasks and assist with mobility.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred but may be required after hiring.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if driving.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement.
• Assist with daily living activities: dressing, grooming, personal hygiene.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding if necessary.
• Support mobility: walking and transferring from bed to chair.
• Light housekeeping: dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and dishes.
• Ensure living environment is clean, safe, and organized.
• Provide transportation to appointments and errands.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes to family or healthcare professionals.
• Ensure medications are taken as prescribed.
• Support social engagement and communication with family/friends.
• Maintain accurate records of care and any incidents and report concerns to supervisor.
