Job summary

Senior Helpers in Melbourne, FL is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide companionship, assist with daily living activities, and support mobility for clients in their homes.

You will help with meals, light housekeeping, transportation, and health monitoring, while maintaining accurate records and communicating with families. Flexible scheduling offered, including evenings and weekends, with background screening required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
• Ability to perform light physical tasks and assist with mobility.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if driving.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and engage clients in conversations and activities.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement.
• Assist with daily living activities including dressing, grooming and hygiene.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding if needed.
• Support mobility and transfers.
• Light housekeeping: dusting, vacuuming, laundry, dishwashing.
• Provide transportation to appointments and errands.
• Monitor health and report changes to family or professionals.
• Encourage social engagement and community involvement.
• Document care provided and report incidents promptly.
