Starting pay: $20.00 per hour plus benefits

Available Shifts:

Friday: 10am - 2pm

Responsibilities

1. Planning and preparing a weekly schedule of activities that will provide learning of living skills and experiences according to the participant’s ISP and IPP goals and objectives.
2. Conduct daily activities at the participant’s home to assist in the development of living skills. Help participants build independence, integrate into the community, and carry out activities such as chores, meal preparation, grocery shopping, utilizing public transportation, attending doctor’s appointments, and learning financial management.
3. Provide 1:1 personal care for participants which may include assistance with eating, personal hygiene, showering, restroom assistance, and preparing for bedtime.
4. Maintain all assigned documentation and data regarding participants including ISPs, quarterly and annual evaluations, and ID/case notes.
5. Assist in participant assessments, planning, and evaluation processes. Attend ISP/IPP meetings. Assist participants in the development and implementation of their Service Plan.
6. Meet required training hours timely, utilizing internal and external training resources.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

• 1 to 2 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience to perform the job successfully. Experience working with people in behavior management programs preferred.
• Minimum age requirement is eighteen (18).
• Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain valid CPR, CPI, and First Aid Certifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and self-directed when working at a participant’s home.
• Ability to interpret and carry out written or oral instructions.
• Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment.
• Working knowledge and understanding of Individual Program Plans and Individual Service Plans.
• Ability to provide assistance with personal care to participants and the ability to transfer a program participant who has no weight-bearing skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to push wheelchairs on a variety of terrain.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements.
• Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis.
• Ability to tolerate an outdoor work environment inclusive of a variety of weather conditions.
• Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.
