Position Summary

The Elizabeth Seton Children Center facilitates companionship for residents with increased behavioral needs, providing a loving presence to ensure their safety in the least restrictive environment.

Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Promote Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Improve organizational systems and services.
  • Work as part of a team to fulfill the mission, recognize achievements, and learn from failures.
  • Treat residents, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect.
  • Report to the nurse manager, house supervisor, or charge nurse.
  • Perform duties under supervision, ensuring resident safety.
  • Follow PPE protocols and gather supplies for care.
  • Model appropriate adult behavior for residents.
  • Report escalating behaviors promptly.
  • Report any abuse or neglect according to policy.
  • Follow infection control procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident areas.
  • Assist residents in activities and outings.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Document behavior and episodes in EMR as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
Experience
  • Experience working with children preferred.
Employee Requirements
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Meet health standards per NYDOH and other agencies.
  • Pass medical and physical exams.
  • Assist in evacuation if needed.
Working Conditions
  • Well-lit, ventilated environment.
  • Frequent interruptions expected.
  • Possible extended hours and temporary role changes.
Salary Range

$21.42/Hr to $23.24/Hr
