Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo, TX is looking for a dedicated Companion Caregiver to provide essential support and care for clients in various settings such as nursing homes and private homes. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, monitoring health, meal preparations, and engaging clients socially. The ideal candidate possesses experience in caregiving, knowledge of first aid and CPR, and is compassionate and patient. Both full-time and part-time shifts are available along with benefits like health insurance and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or related fields, including home health or hospice care.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate with healthcare professionals.
