Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking caring individuals to provide in-home companion care. The role offers competitive hourly pay and weekly paychecks, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k).

You will support clients with socialization, light housekeeping, shopping assistance, and medication reminders in a home setting. Applicants should be 18+, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate compassionate interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of Companion Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills preferred.
• English language proficiency required.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and encourages socialization.
• Encourages a mild exercise program.
• Encourages medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications.
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing infection control procedures including universal precautions.
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and completes shift schedule.
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
• Providing and encouraging socialization
• Encouraging a mild exercise program
• Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
• Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
• Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
