Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Companion Care Homemaker to provide in-home assistance and social engagement for clients in the Petaluma area. You will support daily activities, encourage medication reminders, and help maintain safety during routines like bathing and dressing.

The role requires compassionate service, strong communication skills, and English proficiency. Compensation is hourly, with benefits and flexible scheduling as part of a dedicated home-care team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Professional demeanor and clear boundaries.
• Compassionate nature and strong interpersonal skills preferred.
• Strong communication with clients, supervisors and coworkers preferred.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-off care including socialization, mild exercise and medication reminders.
• Supervises safety during bathing, toileting and dressing.
• Assists with grocery shopping and light housekeeping.
• Arrives at client’s home on time and completes shift as scheduled.
• Performs duties accurately and timely.
• Observes infection control procedures and universal precautions.

Hourly Pay: $20.34 - $21.50

Responsibilities

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
• Providing and encouraging socialization
• Encouraging a mild exercise program
• Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
• Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
• Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
