Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Companion Caregiver to provide services to patients/clients in their homes. Responsibilities include social engagement, encouraging mild exercise, medication reminders, and safe supervision during activities of daily living.

Requirements include being at least 18 and English proficiency; prior Companion Care Homemaker experience is preferred. Benefits include comprehensive health, retirement plans, and PTO where eligible.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1 year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Proficiency in English language required.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands‑off care including socialization encouragement, mild exercise, and medication reminders, plus light housekeeping and grocery shopping as needed.
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and completes the shift as scheduled.
• Performs duties accurately, timely, and with attention to infection control procedures.

Hourly Pay: $19 to 22 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
  • Providing and encouraging socialization
  • Encouraging a mild exercise program
  • Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
  • Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
