Job summary

WM (Waste Management) seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on compactors and containers. Field work involves electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air system diagnostics, with on-time repair estimates and safe, documented processes.

Responsibilities include service calls, safety checks, gear to assist senior technicians, and strict adherence to Standard Repair Times and paperwork requirements.

Qualifications

• 2 years previous experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
• Valid Driver's License Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses and repairs compactors and containers.
• Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish tasks.
• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services.
• Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems as needed.
• Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Estimates time and material costs on repairs and requisitions parts.
• Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.
• Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Assists senior technicians in project completion.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
