Job summary

Kansas State University seeks a Butler County Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent based in El Dorado, KS. This on-site role leads educational programming across family life, nutrition, food safety, parenting, and health, linking K-State Extension with local communities and volunteers.

You will identify community needs, design engaging strategies, collaborate with partners, and travel as needed to host events evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 12 credit hours or six months of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering information to groups or individuals.
• Leadership experience in supervisory or informal roles.
• GPA of 2.75/4.0 or evidence of progressive responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of family and consumer sciences education.
• Engage with community partners to strengthen local vitality and health programming.
• Identify local needs and emerging issues within K-State Extension’s five critical issues.
• Collaborate with program focus teams and pursue internal/external funding.
• Recruit and manage volunteers to extend reach of programming.
