Job summary

American Water Works Association seeks a Water/Wastewater Engineer – Community Water to join the Standards & Optimization Programs (SOP) team. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience coordinating community water programs or similar initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AWWA’s community water program and activities.
• Direct technical, managerial, and financial evaluations for small utilities.
• Develop and manage capital improvement planning deliverables (e.g., studies, cost estimates).
• Provide technical and managerial assistance to clients, partners, and volunteers.
• Serve as primary program contact for project inquiries from applicants and stakeholders.
• Maintain project records and reporting; document discussions and decisions.
