Job summary

InAlliance is seeking compassionate Employment Training Specialists to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Placerville and surrounding areas. You will lead community activities, provide on-site job training, and help participants develop life skills while promoting independence.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of direct instructional experience with IDD, a High School Diploma, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required or equivalent.
  • At least two years of direct instructional experience with adults with IDD.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • RBT training preferred.
  • CA Driver License required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in participating in community-based activities, including employment, volunteering, recreation, and social engagements.
  • Assist individuals at job sites by providing on-the-job training, ensuring they understand and perform tasks effectively, and helping them build workplace skills.
  • Work with individuals to develop and enhance life skills, such as communication, social interaction, problem-solving, and daily living activities.
  • Ensure the safety of individuals in all community settings, advocate for their needs and rights, and assist them in navigating challenges.
  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks as needed, including hygiene and mobility support.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, case notes, and incidents, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with family members, supervisors, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Safely transport individuals to and from community activities, job sites, and appointments as needed.
  • Implement positive behavioral interventions and strategies to manage challenging behaviors in a respectful and effective manner.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in supporting individuals with IDD.
