BOWERY RESIDENTS' COMMITTEE is seeking a Community Technician to provide consistent, on-site support in a 24/7 program and crisis response role.

You will help maintain a safe residential environment, engage residents with trauma-informed approaches, document activity, and participate in safety and operational tasks while pursuing growth within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through rounds and monitoring.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed, de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors with dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.

Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week | 24/7 Program | Mandatory Overtime

At BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you’re a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness—often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan - training provided)
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes)
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep

What You’ll Gain

Who We’re Looking For

• Security Guard license, Food Handler Certificate, or similar certifications

Schedule

• Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
• Morning, evening, and overnight shifts available
• Mandatory overtime required
