Job summary

SupportFinity™ is looking for a Community Supports Technician for intermittent on-call work in Michigan. This role monitors the health and safety of clients via electronic systems and provides direct intervention as needed.

Job description

Community Supports Technician - Intermittent

Location: 301 S Crapo Street, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858

Schedule: Intermittent on‑call work with no guaranteed hours; up to 20 hours per week. Minimum of 1‑2 shifts weekly. Shift options include:

  • 7am – 3pm
  • 8am – 4pm
  • 3pm – 11pm
  • 4pm – 12am
  • 7pm – 3am
  • 11pm – 7am
  • 12am – 8am

Compensation: $16.53 – $22.54 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary

Monitors the health, safety, and security of designated recipients via electronic monitoring systems from a central location and responds to their needs verbally, in person, or by arranging the appropriate response. Provides direct care and support during off‑hours and intervenes as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide direct care, intervention, and support during off‑hours in recipients' homes.
  • Operate electronic monitoring systems and ensure proper functioning.
  • Monitor auditory cues for indications that support or intervention is needed.
  • Pay special attention to needs identified in service plans and potential emergency situations.
  • Nurture, comfort, and provide communication opportunities via monitoring systems.
  • Document all activities in a timely manner following applicable policies.
  • Promote safe, secure, and healthful living conditions for recipients.
  • Follow emergency procedures affecting recipients’ welfare.
Employment Standards
  • General Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Courses: DCH Group Home Curriculum including basic first aid, CPR, medication administration, and crisis avoidance techniques.
  • Job-Related Experience: Two years of caregiver experience or equivalent training preferred.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license required for agency vehicle use.
Conditions of Employment
  • Knowledge: Understanding of developmental disabilities, medications, appropriate living conditions, and emergency procedures.
  • Skills: Basic computer, reading, and telephone skills.
  • Abilities: Independent judgment, strong verbal communication, crisis handling, and teamwork. Must remain calm under pressure, support recipients’ decision making, and stay organized.
  • Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, listening, driving, walking, and providing direct care (lifting, positioning).
  • Work Environment: Monitoring control room, agency vehicles, recipients' homes, and community settings.
