JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Community Support will supervise the Community Support Department staff by assisting families in accessing vital services in the community and by conducting outreach and educational workshops regarding health and social determinants of health. The Director of Community Support will work collaboratively with other agency staff and agency partners to identify the needs of the community and to develop strategies to effectively meet these needs. As a vital role of the YWCA, the Director of Community Support will ensure that he/she develops strong partnerships with local schools and other community-based organizations.
The CSS Director is a full-time, salaried position with an annual salary of $75,000. This position offers a competitive compensation package along with applicable benefits available to eligible full-time employees of YWCA Union County.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SPECIALIZED TRAINING
- Must have LCSW or LPC and counseling experience.
- Minimum of three years’ counseling and supervisory experience.
- Must have solid knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and trauma.
- Must demonstrate cultural competency in experience or education.
- Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
- Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Maintain flexibility in schedule to meet clients' needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for the overall management and development of counseling, case management and outreach services for all non-residential programs. Clinical supervision of staff providing counseling services.
- Direct supervision and administration of staff providing non-residential counseling services.
- Oversight of CSVA Coordinator.
- Oversight of Specialized Training and Employment Project program, including STEP Coordinator.
- Develop and oversee non-residential services in the form of individual and group counseling and case-management for appropriate clients and ensure appropriate counseling support for shelter residents.
- Provide direct care services in the form of intakes, walk-ins, individual sessions, crisis intervention and group interventions as needed.
- Responsible for the collection of data and generation of monthly and quarterly reports.
- Ensure adequate training for all department staff.
- Ensure adequate scheduling and staffing for non-residential services including community-based domestic violence services.
- Attend and participate in agency meeting requirements i.e., monthly staff meeting, Director/Coordinators Meeting, and others as required.
- Recommend and participate in the development of new programs, as needed.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and assignment of clients.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Supervise the following services: intakes, individual sessions, walk-ins, crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, referrals, group sessions and case management; provide support and services as needed.
- Supervise CSVA Coordinator and support training and management of CSVA volunteers
- Supervise STEP Coordinator and ensure the effective delivery of workshops and services to clients.
- Submit monthly reports to the Assistant Executive Director for Core Services.
- Ensure clients' provision of services and appropriate intervention.
- Maintain a system of accountability to ensure proper statistical information gathering and analysis.
- Provide training for volunteers and other community groups, as requested.
- Complete timely performance evaluation of staff.
- Support the professional development of staff, as well as personal development.
- Attend staff and community meetings/committees as required. and Legal Team Meetings and other necessary sub team meetings.
- Review of documentation related to counseling cases.
- Be knowledgeable of funding sources, program budgets and grant expectations and ensure the proper management and implementation of each.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed and directed by the Executive Director or AED for Core Services.
- All positions will be trained in answering the hotline, and for coverage of backup shifts.
