Job summary

United Ability, Inc. in the Oxmoor area of Birmingham, AL, seeks a Community Support Professional/Driver to support adults with disabilities in engaging with community activities and small-group employment opportunities.

You will plan and lead outings, collaborate on curriculum, arrange community volunteer projects, and transport participants safely while working with a team to deliver meaningful, hands-on daily learning experiences.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR/First Aid Red Cross certificate required (will be obtained on-site after employment).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of motor vehicle screening.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and carry out educational small group outings in the community.
  • Collaborate and implement community volunteer opportunities.
  • Create curriculum and train adults with disabilities on a variety of skills.
  • Transport adults into the community and oversee safety.

Monday-Friday; 7:30am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:00pmUnited Ability, located in the Oxmoor area of Birmingham, is a program that provides a variety of services to adults with disabilities. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Community Support Professional/Driver providing adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy various community activities including small group employment in local businesses. This position has the chance to teach on the go and explore all that our area has to offer. We encourage creativity and utilize a team, collaborative approach.
